Me and Beads

I started the business making beaded jewellery almost 10 years ago . I had made jewellery for friends and myself before that but I would use fishing line and many knots. It was only after a necklace I got as a 50th birthday present popped off my neck and smashed that I looked into the techniques that professionals use . I visited a warehouse to buy beads and tools to repair that necklace and all I can say is kid in a sweetshop springs to mind!

Initially I worked solely with semi precious stones and the variety of stones and shapes available satisfied my creativity but I reached a point where I wanted to explore more and that’s when I started experimenting with Preciosa glass seed beads. The variety and palette of colours offer innumerable possibilities, especially when I team them with hand made lampwork beads I source from some of the world’s best lampworkers.
